La Casa del Cafe

Copan

La Casa de Café is unique, offering all the services and amenities one would expect in a fine Bed & Breakfast Inn along with Honduran charm, family style hospitality, and turn-of-the-century ambiance.

Our B & B features 10 comfortable rooms in two wings, each with private hot water bath, wood paneled ceiling, antique ceiling fan, writing desk and an oversized picture window which looks out onto a spectacular view of the Copan River Valley, the distant mountains and La Casa de Cafe's own lovely tropical garden.

La Casa de Café, Copan's Bed and Breakfast Inn is housed in an attractive village residence, four blocks from Copan's Central Park.

The newly renovated main house contains an antique ceiling fan, wood paneled ceiling and a cozy commons area, always available to guests, featuring color T.V. with cable, VHS, CD player and an extensive library of books, magazines, maps and videotapes on history, culture, travel, archeology, indigenous groups and the environment in Honduras and Central America - all making La Casa de Café a charming and comfortable base from which to explore the magnificent ruins of Copan.

Relax in a hammock and take in a sunset, read a good book, watch a video, brush up on your Spanish or sample the local beers. Esta en su casa! Make yourself at home!

After a good nights rest, awake to a rich, flavorful cup of locally grown export quality coffee. We grind our beans - fresh every morning. Top it off with a typical, hearty, homemade Honduran country style breakfast. Piping hot tortillas fresh from the griddle, beans, fried plantains, eggs, ham, fresh country cream, tropical fruits - or if you prefer the more traditional - pancakes, french toast, waffles and homemade granola.

After visiting the majastic Mayan ruins and strolling the quaint colonial village of Copan, why not take a dip in the local hot springs, visit a nearby waterfall, nature reserve or a local Chorti Indian village. For the adventurous, there is horseback riding to outlying Maya sites like Los Sapos, or simply wander down to the Copan River.

For your comfort and security we're staffed 24 hours a day by our on-site owner/manager. Our knowledgeable bilingual staff is always ready to answer questions, recommend a restaurant or serve up a fresh cup of coffee - at La Casa de Café our coffee maker is always on!
