Tikal National ParkMayan Ruins, Tropical Forest, Wildlife, BirdwatchingONE DAY TOUR DESCRIPTION Check in at your airline's counter at 5:30 a.m. for flight to Flores Peten, departing Guatemala City International Airport at 6:30 a.m. and arriving into Flores Airport at 7:25 a.m. Upon arrival in Flores, transfer to the Tikal National Park. Park entrance fee included. Your guided visit of Tikal with a professional guide starts at 9:00 a.m. Tikal is the most impressive of all Maya Ceremonial centers, due to its magnificent monumental architecture and the abundance of structures that have been excavated and restored at the site. You will be able to see all the temples at a close range, but when you get to Temple IV you will not only be impressed of its height (230.98 feet)... you will also enjoy a magnificent view of the surrounding jungle and the other temples in the horizon. The jungle seems to stretch in every direction, as far as the eye can see. Discover the natural beauty of Tikal. Monkeys, agouti, silver tailed foxes are only some of the mammals you will spot easily, along with some of the many different bird species that live in the Tikal National Park, home to at least 410 registered species. After lunch (included in your tour) you will visit the Sylvanus G. Morley Museum (entrance fee included), where you will find ceramics and other objects discovered by the University of Pennsylvania during 13 years of research at the site. You will also visit the Lithics or Stelae Museum before departure. After a wonderful day in Tikal transfer back to the airport at 4:20 p.m. for your flight back to Guatemala City at 6:20 p.m. Upon arrival, we may arrange for your transfer to your hotel in Antigua or Guatemala City. |
